Can Gallup please conduct this simple poll? Obama vs. Trump: Who Is More Competent To Be President Of The United States?

Then, as usual, break the total down by party affiliation.

Because....seriously, NO RATIONAL, OBJECTIVE HUMAN BEING COULD POSSIBLY PICK TRUMP. And if a significant portion of GOP supporters pick Trump, that will be the final proof that the GOP has truly gone off the deep end, lost the capacity for rational thought, is putting Party before country; and is not fit to govern.

I get that you may not like Obama's governing philosophy, but there is no way that any RATIONAL human being could think he's less competent than the clown the GOP just put in the White House.

I have a feeling Gallup won't do the poll, because they (like the rest of us) are afraid of the result. Nobody really wants to be confronted by the reality that the American voters have just put the United States Government into the hands of a group of madmen with the emotional capacity of five year olds.

1. Change it to "who has the most qualifications to be president?"

And then make the surveyed create a list of their selections qualifications, and finally have the surveyors correct (like a kindergarten teacher) fraudulent credentials listed by the surveyed.
You'd still have 40% actually selecting Trump.

Fuck, you could do a Gallup poll asking who is more physically fit and less bald and 96% of republicans would say Trump.
This is why polls don't work. Because even if somebody knows they're anonymous and don't have any insensitive to lie, they still lie to themselves.

The fact that the GOP base has become so stupid, and fallen so badly for culture wars nonsense. I'm PARTISAN (which is why I'm here), but I like to think that if a pollster asked me...

"Who is more competent/qualified to be President: Mitt Romney or Randy Rainbow?"

I would say: "Well, Randy Rainbow shares my sentiments about politics and culture wars, but he has no experience of governing...."

But if you asked Republicans: "Who is more competent/qualified to be President: Barack Obama or Joe The (non)Plumber?" They'd all vote for JOE!

Or, if you showed a picture of Donald Trump and Hitler, and asked Democrats "Which would you rather have running the country?" I don't think many Democrats would honestly pick Hitler. But if you showed Republicans a picture of Obama and Hitler....I think a ridiculous number of them would actually pick Hitler over Obama.
