One was starting to stump for Al Gore's 1988 Presidential campaign; the other was supporting Pierre du Pont's 1988 Presidential campaign. The Democrat supporting Gore was Perry, and the Republican supporting du Pont was Warren.
When we understand why both of them have switched parties over the past 30 years, we will understand the rest of American politics over that time.

(25,383 posts)I think Liz said she switched when she saw that conservative approaches to the markets were hurting consumers. However, I don't pretend to understand her expertise.
It's totally apples and oranges because Liz's background is very technical and Perry went into politics because he was tired of working on his dad's cotton farm.
