(11,841 posts)You only show income and debt expenses, not who you owe. If you get audited, thats when you come up with that info. I put interest on debt in my returns every year with no mention of who I owe the debt to. Theres not even a line for that info.
You also dont have a place to list partners; only what % of the company & profit/loss you own
I still say the only thing in his taxes he doesnt want anyone to see is his much lower income than what he portrays to everyone. To him, thats a HUGE deal, makes him look weaker

(53,061 posts)Trump has a tell that came out in the debates. For example when he hears a list of negative comments about himself he will respond to the one that he knows is true.
For example he hear a list of items and then when it is his turn say "I am very intelligent, one of the most intelligent people you will every meet" and so on.
He would say it about women "I am the most positive person about women you will ever meet" or being a bigot, "I am the least prejudiced person you will ever meet".
During one of the debates with Clinton the Secretary of State listed about 7 reasons that he shouldn't be President including that he has a bad temper, and so on. When it was his turn to speak he said "I am NOT over leveraged, in fact I am one of the least leveraged persons in real estate. Its true, you can ask all the bankers and they will all tell you that I am NOT over leveraged".
As soon as he said it I called my debate watching friend and I said to him Trump is leveraged to his eye balls and is carrying a huge debt burden. I had cued my friend to watch for the tell and he saw that Trump ignored all of the other charges that Clinton made and only responded to the "over leveraged" one, something that few in the audience understood or cared about.
He is carrying a huge debt burden and may be upside down on his assets.
I made a note of it at the time:

(50,563 posts)The Mother Jones article points out a BIG problem with this bank: the loan documents hold him personally responsible for $26 million in debt. If this note goes sour, Trump has to pull $26 million he probably does not have out of his pocket to pay this.
Also consider: One of the things Trump does best is bury numbers. He has set up a lot of partnerships and alliances that protect him from exposure. If he's in hock to the Russian mafia, and he probably is, that money is part of a partnership we won't know about.
Once again: I don't give a rat's ass about Donald Trump's tax returns because they ain't gonna tell us shit anyway. I want to see his business records.

(20,018 posts)He owes 364 million.
He hasn't paid it back.
Can he pay it back?
If so, why doesn't he?
If not, in what sense is he a billionaire?
D_Master81
(1,822 posts)he could be a "billionaire" if he's paid off assets that are worth a billion dollars. If i was that in debt i think i would sell something and pay off the debts i have, but my guess is the cash intake from those properties is able to pay the payments so he doesnt mind having that much debt, b/c if he sells assets to pay it off, would he still be considereda billionaire? who knows
