It's kind of a tribal thing for them at this point. The denier tribe is facing extinction due to reality and they are grasping at straws.

He's not entirely wrong. One of the biggest reasons for the climate crisis is simply our overpopulation. Having a baby who will have an enormous carbon footprint over their lifetime does seem kinda contrary to the goal of reducing emissions. Additionally, if you believe the future is gonna be uber fucked up, why would you even want to have kids? I certainly don't want to ever have kids for the second reason alone. I tend to think we're headed towards either a nightmarish dystopia, total plutocracy or apocalyptic future. Why bring some poor kid into the world to experience such horrors?

Based on that logic Christians would not have children. Christians believe there will be an apocalypse; however, they continue to have children. Just because you believe bad things will happen in the future you do not refuse to have children. You just try to make things better.
