Snipes are Snipes against any who have applauds or gripes
Theres a flow that goes out there -"au contrare" - to what or who may care. Doing so in a petty or snide (snipe) way.
You go on Facebook or Twitter, and you talk about someone who did something nice, different, or better than average. Only to have those seek to rwin on the parade, who ain't done so or hate any doing so, come along to swipe at the premise (these are the snipe as hunters).
I'm not allowed to point out Trump lied about draining the swamp, or his love affair with Goldman Sachs, or how a guy is holding up a sign, with a MAGA hat on his head, with the sign saying - "I made a big mistake" - without a 'snipe' coming along and saying how pathetic a human being I am for even mentioning a person who voted for the guy.
Isn't it a good thing the person admits his vote was wrong?
For 16 years I've endured 'snipes', even from progressive side' telling me I'm a pain in their ass, fighting Romney & Goldman Sachs. A prominent lawyer at DK, kept saying Mitt left in 1999, and that I was lying. He had a brigade of followers who said I'm CT over and over again. And it pissed me off that purported progressives were defending Romney, just to snipe at me.
Then, when Obama pointed out the same facts I contended, were true (and his campaign websites followed or friended me) ...instead of apologizing for being wrong, they attacked me more...and Bojo'd me for fighting back.
Or - if I point out a former female veteran joining African Park Rangers (who are getting killed) - than I'm a wretch who the petty & snide snipes say supports the NRA.
Haters who constantly ruin the message you seek to make note of (cause familiarity does breed contempt).
Snipes going around, just like a lawyer's gang, finding fault with anything you say, just because they like being miserable and hate you're the one pointing out a good thing.
I gave up my membership in gun club, and my markmenship awards - decades ago. Doing such long before it was popular....because I despised the thpughts that came, when anger arose.
Snipes or not, I greatly applaud the female Veteran putting herself on the line to stop poachers who kill Park Rangers.
I applaud the person who puts out a FB pic, of himself, noting he made a big mistake, voting for the arsehole Trump.
And I will never stop fighting Sachs or Bain
No matter how many 'snipers' are miserable and have nothing better to do, then to tryto make it rain, on a parade; because someone thinks people are arseholes for pulling all those flowers...just to make a dam float.
