but also has delusions of his own glory, like when he talks about having been assigned to Africa in the Peace Corps, he said, "I walked the same ground CHURCHILL passed through..."

At least he's blurted out some truths, like saying that his parents "were cloth coat Republicans" and his joining the Dems wasn't from ideology but from Irish Catholic pride over JFK, but even then, that he joined the Peace Corps not from idealism but specifically to avoid going to Vietnam.

As for his self-glorification, when Darrell HAMMOND first did an impression of him, he said, "I am now an *icon* - I have been 'done' on Saturday Night Live!1"
