Do pathogens have a "basic microorganism right" to infect people who can not afford treatment?

Rep. Raúl Labrador (R-Idaho) faced boos from a town hall audience while defending his views that healthcare is not a "basic human right."

"I just don't think it's a right to have healthcare," Labrador said Wednesday in response to a question about healthcare reform and increasing costs, according to The Associated Press.

There is demonstrably no right to healthcare until we decide otherwise and legislate accordingly.

A Republican just isn't going to want to cede even that possibility, and will try to dismiss the question as Labrador does here.

"Just," of course, being code for "I don't want to discuss my reasons for this stated belief, because I would sound like a complete tool."

that horse has left the barn. Thanks to the ACA most Americans now consider healthcare a right. And a few dumb ass tea party Republicans are trying to pretend that it has not happened.

We need to have them say it is not a right as often and as loud as possible. Encourage them to say it.

And every single debate our candidate needs to say that we Democrats believe in healthcare for everyone. Challenge the Republican contender on his or her beliefs.

Do that and we win on this issue alone.

philosophical, metaphysical, or biological about it.

We can give ourselves the right to lifetime healthcare. Period. We are citizens of an advanced, extremely wealthy nation, and if we want it we can have it.
