I was either going to or coming from USCG boot camp at Tracen Alameda when I picked up a trashy girly mag that had the interview with nugent about how he dodged the draft.
This was an interview with him and not a story written about him, he described living in the trunk of his car, a 63-64 impala from what I remember, filling his shorts and having his buddy's urinate on him, smear poop on his clothes, etc...
During W's time when he came out as a defender of the Flag and our great nation I was on a site with the back and forth sniping about politics, I mentioned the story and was flooded with bad nastiness from the dark side.
I searched for any links to the story on the net and found none, zero, nada.
When I returned to a little political discussion a few years ago the draft dodging story was everywhere and was well known.
I've been wondering, was I the one that started the search for the fact that he was a draft dodger?, not to do anything to give myself a gold star but I wonder if someone saw my posts and went looking to find the truth?.
I doubt it but as I said, I found nothing on the net about it at that time, the interview I read was found in a skin mag somebody left on a greyhound bus, this was in late 1977 or early in 1978.
At least it was brought to light, and I have not listened to any of his music since, and at the time I was a fan, I've called him "the ten fingers of poop" since then.
