Unimaginable

So we’re Democrats.

Can you imagine our party nominating a presidential candidate whose only accomplishments in life were inheriting money while cheating working people out of theirs, hosting a TV reality show, and proudly bragging about his ability to grab women’s genitalia as a “right” because he was famous?

Can you imagine US supporting the candidacy of a man whose bigotry and racism is as obvious as his disrespect for women, who publicly mocks the disabled, and who outsources American jobs to low-wage countries while claiming to “Make America Great Again”?

Can you imagine US canvassing, phone-banking, and campaigning for a man who is as bereft of intelligence as he is of simple common sense, and encouraging others to put such an obvious idiot in the Oval Office?

Can you imagine US actually going to the polls and voting to place an ignorant buffoon, who knows absolutely nothing about the workings of our government, no less even a basic understanding of foreign affairs, into the highest position in our nation?

Can you imagine US defending incoherent “tweets” sent by an illiterate asshole? How about defending that asshole’s accusations that his predecessor had “tapped his wires” and was therefore guilty of a crime, despite NO evidence? How about insisting that the incompetent boob we’d elected deserved time to “grow into the job”, when that job not only required but deserved the very best we as a country could elect?

Can you imagine US rallying behind a pResident who blatantly lies about everything from the size of his inauguration crowds to the size of his electoral college “win” – someone who actually believes that those things are more important than all of the challenges that we face as a country?

Can you imagine US promoting the concept of some bizarre world where it is in our nation’s best interests to insult our allies and accuse them of collusion with our former President in order to “spy” on the current pResident?

Can you imagine US looking the other way as the evidence piled up that our choice of president had colluded with Russia in order to be elected, and is financially indebted to a foreign adversary in order to keep his personal wealth intact?

Can you imagine US doing ANY of the aforesaid?

No, of course you can’t. And that is the difference between US and THEM.

The Republicans have now demonstrated, beyond all reasonable doubt, that they will do anything to put one of their own in office – regardless of how detrimental it is to our citizenry, regardless of how detrimental it is to our nation’s standing in the global community. They are as devoid of principles as they are devoid of caring about their fellow Americans.

They will support, elect, and defend a pussy-grabbing, job outsourcing, mentally unhinged bigot/racist if it means chalking-up a “win” in their column – the well-being, safety and security of our country be damned.

If we had any doubts about that before, all doubts have been forever erased.

I think most of the USA votes the same as we do, if they're allowed to vote; their votes are counted; and their votes mean anything.

I'm lucky enough to live in California, and I've seen the change in this state since the districts were re-drawn by a truly independent commission.

There is actually a re-birth of a healthy Democracy possible in this country.

The only way the republicans can stay in power and keep pushing their criminal agendas are by cheating. They are truly the largest criminal Racketeer Influenced Corrupt Organization on the planet. We will see an American Spring; a World Spring; if we can get rid of them.

Bragging that he could make money from running, while condemning his opponent for making money while not in office.

Condemning his opponent for having a charity that actually does good, transparent, and has a high rating. While he uses his charity for buying off repub's, paying off court assessments, and buying items for personal use. (And that's all we know of he probably did more.)

I know that a president with a (D) behind his/her name could not get away with what tRumputin gets away WITH on a daily basis. The thuglicans are party over country, and its been proven to a 100% certainty with the 2016 General Election, and the happening post the election. NO president with a (D) behind his/her name could dare get away with the sheer lack of knowledge, incompetency, willful ignorance and out and out LIES told on a monthly, weekly, daily or hourly rate. The corporate media mostly payed the email boogie to an incessant drumbeat where Hillary was concerned, yet all we mostly learned via those illegally obtained emails from FakiLeaks/rapist/putin-lover Assange was that John Podesta REALLY loves creamy risotto. You have what clearly appears to be collusion taking place between tRumputin and a foreign government russians whether some in the media and some of our fellow citizens (And I use the term loosely) want to believe it nor not. You have people who are racist who voted in their OWN worst interest, because the 44th president elected TWICE in landslides of an 8 year term had the nerve to be competent, intelligent and the first non-white male President of the United States: Pres. Barack Obama, although not perfect (NO one is), was guilty of nothing more than presidenting while black (Oh, and he had nerve bringing along a beautiful, intelligent accomplished caring wife, 2 beautiful, intelligent daughters and a loving and kind mother-in-law WITH him to the White House that "they" so desperately had to vote take back in part and give to a racist, treasonous, money-grubbing, incompetent, ignorant, lying, boorish, 300 lb gelatinous mass of smelly orange GOO, no matter how "bad" he was/is as a human being (And for sure I use the word human being extremely loosely when describing tRumputin).

I could go "ON and ON" as sung by Gladys Knight and the Pips from the 1974 hit movie soundtrack "Claudine," but your last paragraph sums up all and ties it up with a bow for all time @ NANCEGREGGS:

They will support, elect, and defend a pussy-grabbing, job outsourcing, mentally unhinged bigot/racist if it means chalking-up a “win” in their column – the well-being, safety and security of our country be damned. "If we had any doubts about that before, all doubts have been forever erased."

RACISM, HATRED and IGNORANCE of what is considered "different" by 35% literally tRumps all that should be one doing what's best for themselves & their families, even if they have little love for those who they see as "lesser" and "others." However, racism and any foundation that it was EVER built on came crashing down to the ground eventually because enough of us stood up in more modern times and fought for what was right (Ending Slavery & Nazism), and even though it's extremely disheartening at times to see our country have to go through what it is currently up close and personal (I'm half Native-American, so I have a particular ache in my heart), I still and center myself in a spiritual way and keep telling myself--even in my darkest moments of skepticism and anguish--that there are more of US than it is of THEM.

As a Democrat and as someone who is part of the "resistance," I have to keep saying this to myself, because to give into the alternative--not only for myself, but for humankind--would mean the end of it ALL.
