Watched as much as I could tonight

Of PBS Nova on the Nazi extermination of 70,000 Jews in Vilna, Lithuania in 1942. Rest their souls.

How different were they from us? How easily can
barbarism be triggered in humans? Where will the next genocide occur in the western world?

Native American tribes can tell you it did happen here, especially the northern plains tribes.

It will happen again, anywhere, everywhere. People organize to spread hate and rally behind some strong man who says he hates who they do and the people they hate are rounded up and exterminated.

The only difference with Hitler's gang was the scale. They killed on an industrial scale

it and were children, so innocent, are speaking up. Pointing out to historians where the bodies are. Their parents were often too complicit to talk about it in their lifetimes. Jews everywhere were murdered. Proves that anybody is capable of anything under authoritarianism.
