But Jon Ossoff was not? What is the reasoning behind this? She is pro Assad and buddies with Bannon... :/

(2,897 posts)most popular politician in the country put his weight behind a Dem that will bring us one step closer controlling the house and placing a check on that.
He's a guy with crossover appeal to Republicans, right? Would have been nice if he brought some of those to Ossoff on Tuesday.
The DNC/DCCC dropped the ball on KS04. Bernie, someone who according to DU wields a considerable amount of influence across the country, dropped the ball in regards to GA06.

What makes you think Bernie would have helped in GA06?

(13,920 posts)Id say..
Gabbard is in a state where a Bernie endorsement is a strong positive.
Ossoff is in a state where a Bernie endorsement is potentially a millstone.
Or.. One was a strong public proponent of Sanders during the primary when most were too cowed to say anything, and he was repaying that favor
Or.. Ossoff just never asked for his help, and Bernie assumed that he had his reasons, and respected that silence.
Or who knows. Maybe some other scenario that we will likely never know about unless one or both of them writes a book about it someday.

(4,451 posts)Is Bernie criticized Dems for not doing enough in Kansas while he did nothing in GA.

(13,920 posts)Is Bernie now the replacement for the DNC/in charge of the DNC?
He is one senator, with an opinion. About what the Democratic structure should do. I have an opinion about what the DNC should do. I also have a full time job in a state far from Georgia, and did not fly myself there to help with the Ossoff campaign. Am I also a bad person?

(30,745 posts)so yes, it is his responsibility. He could have opened his mouth in support if nothing else.

(13,920 posts)Because as far as I can tell, the answer is no, it has nothing to do with this discussion.
But by all means. Lets continue the circular firing squad, Democrats blaming progressives, progressives feeling shut out of the process for few more years and let Trump and his minions skate through a few election cycles, rather than focusing on what we can do to resist and turn the tide. That should turn out really well for us as individuals, as well as for the nation as a whole.

(30,745 posts)with the discussion. He was given a formal job and a formal position by the Democratic Party, and he is not living up to his responsibilities by keeping his mouth shut.

(13,920 posts)The idea that anyone would accept the idea that our party would try and buy someones silence by giving them a position.. kinda makes me a little queasy.
If Bernie had accepted a deal on those terms, I would have no more time for the man.
If the party had offered a deal on those terms, I would have to reconsider the membership Ive had since I was 18.
Fortunately I dont believe either of them is that corrupt at this time. Corruption at that level is still the dominion of the Rep's, thankfully.
murielm99
(30,745 posts)Saying that he was bought off? Are you bought off if you work for someone and you are fired for not doing the things that are in your job description?
I have to say that you make me more than a little queasy, too. And I have no more time for you.
quakerboy
(13,920 posts)So a part of the description of "Chair of Outreach" is to "keeping his mouth shut"?
I did not say you make me queasy. I suspect you are a wonderful person, though I dont know you. But the idea of accepting corruption inside our political party does not sit well with me. Just to clarify.
