Why do DUers think Bill Clinton visited GHW Bush last week

note that GHW is still in hospital

Former President George H.W. Bush will remain under observation at Houston Methodist Hospital as he recovers from a "mild case of pneumonia," his spokesman said this morning.

"Although he will not be discharged today, he is already looking forward to going home to Mrs. Bush, who has been constantly by his side," the spokesman said in a statement.

According to a statement Tuesday from Bush's office, he "was admitted to Houston Methodist Hospital on Friday due to a persistent cough that prevented him from getting proper rest," and doctors treated him for pneumonia, which "has been resolved."

If you think ReTHUGs are in chaos now, imagine what will happen when GHW dies and he is getting weaker.
Remember Poppy and Babs did not go to the inauguration but made it to the Superbowl.

But the Bushes live in Houston and that's where the SB was last year. Defintely less taxing for 90 year olds to get to that than getting on a plane and sitting outside for hours during wintertime in DC.

There is probably a list made by Babs of whom to call if things are looking grim again.

I think GHWB may be asking people in person to speak at his final service, and I bet Bill is an important one. They got to know and like each other quite a bit on their aid trips together, Remarkable, given that Clinton beat him.

and only people who have held the job have any idea of what it truly entails.

While they disagree on many things, especially on which direction the country should take, they all know the massive responsibility each man has shouldered and that confers solidarity with the others.

Whether that ultimately extends to Dolt45 is anyone's guess at this point.

4. I don't understand why you think the death of a sickly 92 year old former president

would be a particular catalyst for chaos? When death comes for him, it will dominate the news cycle for a week or two, but then the world will move on.

the funeral planning -I study political funerals

The Bushes will want pomp and ceremony without the current goons in the WH.

cronies are a pack of damn fools and goons. They will want nothing to do with them. Relative to the Clintons, I think the Clintons and Bushes are rather friendly with each other, politics aside. Also, George H. W. Bush and Bill Clinton are supposed to be very good friends.

Despite the likely wishes of his sons. My guess is that it will be a boringly conventional affair.

As Warpy pointed out, a lot of it has to do with being part of the Ex-Presidents Club. The Clintons have become close enough with him that they have vacationed with him in Kennebunkport, and I recall that he considers Bill to be another son. I am not at all surprised that Bill went to visit Bush 41.

The fact they served right after the other plays a role in it.

I don't see w and obama having something as close but w and laura actually have a good relationship with michelle.
