?I HAVE BEEN SCARED AND FUCKING TERRIFIED OF THIS BOSTON MARATHON. IM AFRAID OF FAILURE AND LOSS AND TO LET EVERYONE DOWN, BUT THROUGH THE LOVE AND SUPPORT. I'M REMINDED THAT IT'S NOT ABOUT BEING THE BIGGEST , STRONGEST OR FASTEST PERSON. ITS ABOUT NEVER FUCKING GIVING UP. NEVER FUCKING QUITING. NEVER FUCKING SURRENDERING. IT'S ABOUT FIGHTING BACK WHEN LIFE PUSHES YOU AROUND. YOU FUCKING PUSH BACK AND PUSH BACK FUCKING HARD. IT'S ABOUT BEING FUCKING RESILIENT, KEEPING THE MOTHER FUCKING DRIVE ALIVE AND PUSHING THE LIMITS OF FUCKING POSSIBLE. THAT'S WHAT THE FUCK IT'S ALL ABOUT!!!!! ________________________________________________ #FUCKIT #FUCKSHITUP #SEMPERFI #DRIVE #DESIRE #MOTIVATE #INSPIRE #NEVERGIVEUP #NEVERSURRENDER #BERESILIENT #FITSPIRATION #FITFAM #AFFLICTIONSPORT #AFFLICTION #FIGHTHARD #LIVEFREE #LIVEFAST #LOVEHARD

Bravo for Sanchez's spirit and determination... and all the amazing runners today. It was inspiring to watch. The crowd was cheering them on, for all 26 miles.

(83,772 posts)Katherine Switzer ran 50 years after this iconic photo. She passed right in front of me as did Sanchez. So awesome.

(67,782 posts)....New York Road Runners races in Central Park. We were all in our 20s back then, and my girlfriend at the time beat Katherine Switzer (there were only a handful of female runners in the 1970s) and she was VERY upset! Hard to believe that was about 50 years ago.
It was always my dream to run in the Boston Marathon, but they had time qualifications and I just wasn't "fast" enough (i.e., I was SLOW!)
Thanks for the OP, nice pictures, and great to see that they're moving on from 2013.

(83,772 posts)My niece and her kids came over today, they had never watched in real time. It was a fun day. Everyone so pumped up.
It was good to see Katherine there...50 years, I know~
Congrats to you for wanting to run....food for hunger walk...20K nearly killed my feet. I went to work the next day with baseball size blisters on my feet. Ouch.

(83,772 posts)His big beautiful smile and equally beautiful spirit...love him. He doesn't even like to run...lol. Yet he does it for all the right reasons.
It was a great day, saw two 'baby on boards' running. Katherine Switzer 50 years after she officially became the first woman to run...ran again in Boston at 70.
INSPIRATIONAL! PERSIST! RESIST!
