In the final days before voters in Georgia’s 6th Congressional District either elect a new representative to the House or send two candidates to a June run-off, Republicans continue to sweat. Georgia Republicans spent the weekend making a push to get voters to the polls, and they were very clear that Democrat Jon Ossoff and the massive groundswell of enthusiasm behind his candidacy is the reason for all that sweating:

“I’ll be very blunt: These lines were not drawn to get Hank Johnson’s protégé to be my representative. And you didn’t hear that,” said (state Sen. Fran) Millar. “They were not drawn for that purpose, OK? They were not drawn for that purpose.”

“WE DID NOT EXPECT TO BE THIS NERVOUS WHEN WE GERRYMANDERED THIS STATE. OH GOD PLEASE BAIL US OUT OF THIS.”
