because of their power. 45's is a lust for money and the (false) sense of fame and adoration that wealth brings.

He thinks he's smarter than everybody. Probably thinks he can out-deal Putin. He's lived a lifetime of actions without consequences topped by an election which cemented that notion with its results even after all the bad press he got.

I think the entire clan believes whatever is to come, they will still live lives of richly deserved excess, access and pampering.
