(146,320 posts)My wife subscribed our household to a pretty long list of magazines, since it was one of the few ways we could use up some expiring points from an airline frequent flyer program. We don't use that airline any more. So, she checked off a bunch of boxes and the magazines started arriving.
I have been paging through a lot of mags i wouldn't usually read, due to that. Essence is one of the ones I actually read. Not all of it, but some of the articles give me an interesting insight I wouldn't have seen otherwise.
