Musical guests the Martin Family Circus a Nashville-based family act told Politico they only heard from the Trump administration a few weeks ago and are still currently unsure where they will be staying in Washington. (3,212 posts)The Obamas were the most endearing couple we have had in the White House in my lifetime, but I guess I'm old fashioned, 'cause I never really cared for the number of "celebrities" who frequented the White House. I know our leaders have been entwined with celebrities forever - "Happy birthday, Mr. President" being one famous instance - but I'd like a little less of it.
A lower-key Easter Egg Roll for children is just fine with me, especially considering the current president might be getting ready to start WWIII.

(82,849 posts)But you know the Trump administration has the Obama administration living rent-free in their heads, and the fact that Obama could summon the kind of star power he could has to just rankle Trump. "Yeah, I could out-dunk Michael Jordan, but you know, I'm more about the team game than all that flash," I said, standing at my full 5'11".

(57,349 posts)Hell if Twitler thought celebrities would show up he would be planning Easterpalooza and bragging about how it would put Obama's Easter egg rolls to shame.
But as we all know he can't even pay A list celebrities to show up at his events. Unless you count Kid Rock.

(33,643 posts)Guys like Jon Voight, Gary Sinise, and perhaps 70+ y.o. dickhead Gene Simmons (of Kiss) are MAAAAYbe a B-list Rightist celebs.
In fact the only true 'A-List' Rightists I can think of are Clint Eastwood, Sly Stallone, and Ah-nuld.
And realistically ... none of them are all that Right-Wing when compared to the Rushs & Savages & Hannity's of the World. They're more like Goldwater/Nixon-era Republicans.
IOW, not the virulent, evil 'Tea Party' sorts that frequent the RW echo-chamber these days ...
