(11,686 posts)I also think everybody that the president chooses for his/her cabinet should show the same. They should also be made public. They should all get extensive criminal checks both national and international which also should be public. We are voting/hiring them for their positions to run our country they need to take full responsibility for their present and pass actions. I realize that some countries would not share any criminal information but for every country that does to get it from them. Oh yeah, tax records from other countries also dating ten years back also.

(11,686 posts)We are a very blue state. I think some calls to the capital is in order to get put on that list and make it to 27 at least.

(9,525 posts)release their tax returns. Swing states would have to get in on it for it to be effective. If it's a predictably blue state, there is talk that repubs might just not run in them. I read that somewhere...

(218 posts)The real way these laws would have teeth is if they apply to the primary election as well as the general election. Remember that Trump had to win the primaries in a lot of blue states to secure a spot in the general election.

(20,136 posts)States get to choose how their electors are selected. There's no requirement they even hold an election to choose them, and many didn't for years after the constitution was enacted.

(11,951 posts)The states should also require them to campaign for "x" number of days in their state as well in order to be on the ballot.
That would force every candidate to take each state seriously and not ignore some of them
