The Constitution is pretty clear on presidential eligibility and I don't believe releasing tax returns is part of this.

Ideally, the voters should demand it. Unfortunately, the only voters demanding that Trump release his tax returns had no intentions of voting for him no matter what he did and Trump himself understood this.

When Trump runs for re-election, there will be another opportunity for voters to ask to see his tax returns. At that point, he can make a calculated decision whether or not showing them will net him more votes and act accordingly.

Personally, I don't see him ever releasing his pre-White House tax returns.
