And they are clearly also completely corrupt, lawless, grifting, and power hungry.
And yet, we seem to expect that they are going to set up and allow elections in which the Democratic party could win back control.
Do we really expect that?
Do we really think they are willing to reap what they have sown with an angry electorate?
I, for one, don't think they will. They already cheat, gerrymander, suppress, and otherwise fuck up the vote. I expect epic levels of fraud for any elections to come.
Will we face a situation in 2018 where, gee, the outcome didn't match the polls beforehand, and the wave of Democratic victories mysteriously don't materialize? What will we do about that? It's happened often in the past, and each time the Democratic party just takes it.
Are we facing de facto one party rule from now on?
Do the leaders of the Democratic party even seem to understand this potentiality? Do they have a plan in place? Are they willing to fight for actual democracy where votes count?
I'd like to hear a little more awareness and strategy and fight from them about this.

(36,487 posts)where Congressional districting lines are set. Think the GOP won't lie, cheat & steal to get gain control of more states? The GOP have shown us their true colors for many years & still the dems played nice - go along to get along - & now the repubs have their boot on our neck. I think it will be many years, if ever, before the democratic party has any influence. They didn't just drop the ball, they lost the game.

(10,437 posts)sitting around complaining or whining won't do it....everyone who has a conservative rep or senator must take action to make those people's lives miserable...letters to editor, tweets to their twitter accounts and hit their facebook pages. Be nice to have a subforum set up for such discussions....
