On CNN just now (7:20 am Pacific), Victor Blackwell was interviewing Kelly Jane Torrance, The Weekly Standard and another journalist.
While they were discussing why Pence went to Seoul without Trump, Kelly Jane raised the point that back during the primaries, the Trump team had offered Kasich (and presumably Pence) the most powerful vice presidency in history the option of leading domestic and foreign policy while Trump would be "MAGA".
I find it interesting that they are actually taking that seriously and including it in the conversation, rather than ignoring it as had seemed to be the case in earlier months.

(5,810 posts)Delegate all the harder jobs to Pence and Jared. tRump gets to do the photo ops and the ceremonial stuff and jet off to Mar-a-Lago on the weekends. Screw what the rest of us think. This is what he planned and by god, no one is gonna stop him. And sadly, this will be just fine with his base. Thank goodness his "base" seems to be slowly waking up to the fact that they were duped. "Too busy working my ass off to play golf", eh?
