2018- Highly vulnerable Democratic held US Senate seats in IN,MO,MT,ND,and OH and semi vulnerable Democritic held US Senate seats in FL,MI,PA,VA,and WI will remain in the Democratic column. Democrats will pick up AZ and NV and lose TX by a high single digit margin. 50D 50R with VP Pence breaking the tie.
2020- Vulnerable Democratic held US Senate seats in MN,NH,and VA will remain in the Democratic column. Democrats will pick up CO and NC. GA could go either way. Expect Graham-SC and Cornyn-TX to face a tough primary challenge and lose in the Republican primary. Could KY AG Beshear defeat McConnell?

(8,617 posts)Democratic US Senators in FL,IN,MI,MO,MT,ND,OH,PA,WV,and WI get re-elected. The 2 Republican held US Senate seats that is going Democratic is AZ and NV. Democrats have a top top tier candidate in TX but a Democrat winning a statewide office this decade is unlikely. AL,MS,NE,TN,UT,and WY are gonna stay in the Republican column.
In 2020 There is 1 Trump State Democratic incumbent US Senator up for re-election-Peters-MI. Peters got elected to the US Senate in the 2014 Republican wave by a double digit margin. The weak Clinton State Democratic incumbent US Senators up for re-election in 2020 are Franken-MN,Shaheen-NH,and Warner-VA. All 3 of the US Senators and Peters-MI will get re-elected in 2020. There are 2 Clinton State Republican held US Seats up in 2020- CO and ME. Democrats will pick up CO, but in ME-it will take Collins vacating the US Senate. There is 1 weak Trump State Republican incumbent US Senator up in 2020- Tillis-NC. NC will be another Republican held US Senate seat that will go Democratic in 2020.
Democrats pick up 2 seats in 2018, 3 seats in 2020, and 2022 could be the year Democrats have a filibuster proof majority in the US Senate- Democrats have to hold onto vulnerable seats in CO,NV,and NH and pick up AZ,FL,GA,MO,NC,PA,and WI.
