The Aviation security cops at Chicago only have 4 months of training for jobs that

don't allow them to carry guns but can pay up to $88k a year.

Evans could not be reached for comment. Sources said the commissioner is so livid about the damage done to O’Hare Airport’s reputation as a travel hub, aviation security police may well be hard-pressed to hold on to their jobs.

The city currently spends $19 million a year for 292 aviation security cops, with annual salaries ranging from $50,000 to $88,000 after undergoing four months of training. They are not permitted to carry weapons.

instead of offering more money to passengers till they found another passenger willing to leave.

They only offered $800. By involuntarily bumping him, they were were subject to a payment as high as $1325. Why didn't they offer the whole plane 1000 or 1200 or 1400 till they found a taker?

My neighbors kid is allowed to play in my yard. One day the kid is out there, but I mistake the kid for a stranger. I call the police. The police come and beat the crap out of the kid. Am I liable for the beating, yes or no?

As a business decision, sure, you might have breach of a $200 contract. They did, however, fly him to Louisville on that plane.

call for giving priority to paying passengers over passengers on passes, then UA shouldn't have called in the airport goons to extract this man. UA will share in the responsibility.

Did they instruct the goons to do what they did?

So in my example, I'm responsible for the kid being beaten, right?

14. Your example isn't analogous because the homeowner made a mistake in identifying the kid.

United Airlines made a deliberate decision to have the person forcefully moved from the plane, after their verbal orders didn't work.

And they are paying for it now -- literally. They're reimbursing the whole plane of passengers for the cost of their flights.

The CEO vowed to never again let a law enforcement remove "a booked, paid, seated passenger," from a plane.

He said he has unsuccessfully tried to reach the passenger to apologize directly. He said Dao is not at fault, a change in tune from his initial comments on the matter.

"He can't be. He was a paying passenger sitting on our seat in our aircraft, and no one should be treated like that. Period."

Two passengers on United Airlines flight 3411 told CNN that the airline is reimbursing passengers on the flight. United did not return CNN's request for comment. In an email to CNN affiliate WBBM, a United spokesperson wrote "All customers on flight 3411 from Sunday, April 9 are receiving compensation for the cost of their tickets."
