(5,730 posts)If he did use cocaine in the election, and I think he probably did, and maybe does, he didn't really slur his speech. So, I think it is probably stress, TIAs or something. It could be that he is trying to get off the coke.
I have a naturally high energy personality, and I don't do coke...but his is different...like obsessive, can't stop, can't focus, no attention span. He just acts like the people I have been around, rarely, younger years, on coke. He can't stop going. No natural human can go with that sociopathic energy for 20 hrs per day. Campaigning is brutal. He does sniff and have a red nose, also. The signs are all there. Even the impulsiveness, sexual addiction, changing his mind...often a sign. Not every coke head is alike, anyway. This image that we have been fed of down in the dumps cocaine addicts is only half of the story. The meth addicts, who can't afford the good, pure stuff, are in a death spiral. Cocaine is the rich person's drug.
There are cocaine addicts who are very successful for life, Fosse. I know a couple of successful multimillionaire liberals, who did cocaine together 35 years ago, before they were married, and they were poor. Now, they are retired, travel, and spend a lot of time in Hawaii, enjoying the waves, and doing coke. They both look 10 years younger than their age, and their brains are fast. I've known Ivy League students that admitted their academic success was because of the cocaine advantage, even though they quit once they achieved success in life.
I think sometimes it served him well in the business world, doing things fast and furiously, but then , he got over his head in the casinos, out of the real estate world. It served him very well on the camp trail, in the primaries and the general election. It doesn't serve him well in government. He needs measured judgment of complex problems, and he doesn't have that capacity. Plus, he doesn't have the control over his environment that he did in the business world. So, maybe he's trying to quit.
I'm not an advocate. I have a cousin who died as a result, may have been a suicide, as he was headed, again, to rehab, but he never saw his son; his wife was pregnant at his death. He hung out with jet set rock stars and got addicted when he was young. He couldnt stop and adapt to a "normal " life. I'm saying that just because DT functions (some would argue) and is wealthy, rather than hanging out at a crack house, doesn't mean he doesn't do cocaine.

(5,611 posts)our media took Trump's comments that he had never touched alcohol or drugs EVAH EVAH EVAH in his life at face value. Given the circles Trump moved in during the 1980s I find it exceptionally hard to believe that Trump never touched cocaine. And with that "doctor" of his? Good lord who the hell knows.
Now that we know that pretty much everything Trump says seems to be the opposite of the truth well who knows. I have definitely noticed the speech slurring, wild mood swings, and I know some folks with experience with chronic coke abuse who said that his loud sniffing and bursts of hyper behavior (in addition to other signs) were a dead giveaway of cocaine abuse.

(82,849 posts)Time for a little more R and R in Florida. And it's not because he's low energy, so stop saying that!
