I have a friend going through a hard time who I am helping financially. We almost got her in AirBnB but decided elsewhere. May have been a good thing. Anyone else have this type of thing happen or hear of anything like this happening, or is it an isolated incident.

(4,492 posts)And it wasn't a bad experience, but not my first choice (company paid). When I travel, I prefer to stay at hotels over private accommodations.
If I ever vacationed for leisure (as opposed to work) I'd stay at a hotel over an AirBNB but that is also just me.

(14,841 posts)Both were 2 bedroom apartments owned by women. The one in Cuzco was acceptable ($55/night). The one in Lima (Mira Flores section) was fantastic ($85/night). I'd do it again in a flash.
