There has been a rush to judgment over the origin of the chemical weapon attack in Idlib, Syria.

There has been a rush to judgment over the origin of the chemical weapon attack in Idlib, Syria. Conclusions were drawn with no investigation, no gathering of evidence, no forensics, no independent international inquiry, only charges followed by military action. It is extraordinary that when anyone so much as asks for an investigation they are attacked politically. When a verdict is arrived at without facts how can we be sure?

Consider what happened in Ghouta, Syria in 2013. A chemical weapon attack killed nearly 1,000 people. The finger was pointed immediately at the Assad government. But an on-the-ground, at- the-site investigation revealed something quite different.

Reese Ehrlich, in his 2014 work, "Inside Syria," writes: ". . . if UN inspector Sellstrom, as well as professors from MIT and Tesla Labs, are correct on the rocket trajectory, the rockets were fired from areas very near to or under rebel control."

Since the world may be moving close to a wider war precipitated by the gas attack at Idlib, it would behoove world leaders to investigate the source of the attack. That is, if facts even matter in the current environment.

Please read this account from a UN investigator who spoke to the BBC in 2013 concerning the gas attack at that time:

to have done that gas strike, but it's foolish to rush to judgement and possibly retaliate against the wrong perp.

Donald Trump is an epic liar and lies regularly. Although it is dangerous to assume; truth does not follow his outlandish assertions. Any endeavor involving Trump should be viewed with skepticism.

on Allegations of Chemical Weapons Use in Southern Idlib, Syria from Tuesday, 04 April 2017, within hours of the chemical weapons incident. The investigators are investigating...

The OPCW’s Fact Finding Mission (FFM) is in the process of gathering and analysing information from all available sources. The FFM will report its findings to the OPCW’s Executive Council and States Parties to the Chemical Weapons Convention.

The OPCW strongly condemns the use of chemical weapons by anyone, anywhere and under any circumstances...

... Since May 2014, the OPCW has deployed the FFM in numerous occasions to the Syrian Arab Republic and outside of Syria and has kept States Parties informed of its work. The FFM interviews witnesses and obtains samples and physical evidence for analysis.

In 2015, the OPCW Executive Council and the UN Security Council endorsed the continual operation of the FFM.

The FFM’s findings established the facts surrounding allegations of the use of toxic chemicals as weapons in Syria and confirmed that chemical weapons had been used. The FFM’s findings were the basis for the work of the OPCW-UN Joint Investigative Mechanism (JIM), an independent body established by the UN Security Council (Resolution 2235, 7 August 2015). The JIM’s purpose is to identify the perpetrators of the chemical weapon attacks confirmed by the Fact Finding Mission...

there's also this...

and don't forget Scott Ritter just spent the last 6 years in prison on charges that he solicited children for sex, not that that has anything to do with his knowledge of weapons... but it does damage his credibility. As for his "it wasn't Sarin" statement... there's this:
