2010 was a Tea Party wave election and the Feingold campaign under estimated Johnson in 2010 and 2016, Baldwin benefits from Trump in the White House with high unfavorable ratings.

her going for potus in 2020.

Also if she does run for senate she will have a tough primary, an upstate/downstate feud type thing.

The GOP are going with Faso who won Gillibrand House district with the most money spent in any NY congressional district race.

NY Democrats can nominate
Attorney General Eric Schneiderman
Comptroller Tom Dinapoli
US Representatives
NY-4 Kathleen Rice
NY-6 Grace Meng
NY-18 Sean Maloney
In a Sean Maloney-D vs John Faso-R matchup, Maloney-D defeats Faso-R by a double digit margin and Democrats will narrowly win Faso's NY-19 US House seat.

Kristen Gillibrand will handedly retain her seat.

And Faso did not win Gillibrand's house district.

5. THE SENATE IS AN ANTIDEMOCRATIC ABOMINATION
Sat Apr 8, 2017, 10:42 PM
Apr 2017

The Senate, like the EC and the amendment process are antidemocratic abominations in that they ALL permit those representing the minority of the US population to govern. We see that TODAY in that Trump is president even after being REJECTED by 3 million vote margin... and the GOP controls the Senate even if Dems represents about 33 million more Americans.

One can HOPE the stars align to let the Dems take back the Senate... but there's no way to make the Senate more "democratic" UNLESS we weight the vote of each senator by half their state's population. In which case the Dems TODAY would run the Senate.

Dems need to face the fact that our federal system clearly has a GOP bias. Either Dems will stand up for democratic principles... or their signature safety net programs will face an existential threat made possible by an antidemocratic system.

If you believe the Senate is somehow democratic... in that the GOP deserves control because GOP senators represent more Americans... I await your hard numbers.

I used the US Census population update numbers for each state. I believe they were from last July.

It gives equal representation to the states, as intended. The House represents the people and the Senate represents the states, it's a simple concept.

nomination for US Senate against Pat Toomey in 2022, win the Democratic primary and the November General Election. If Trump manages to get re-elected or Pence wins in 2020 and has mediocre approval ratings, Toomey-PA loses re-election. If a Democrat occupies the White House and has a 50 percent or better approval ratings, Toomey-PA loses re-election. Toomey's chances of getting re-elected in 2022 improves if a Democrat occupies the White House and has poor approval ratings.
