...I would have voted for him happily and without reservation in 2016. But part of the reason we lost in 2016 (Yes, I know there are a million reasons) is that there is this perception that the party is equally stuck in the past, and reacting to old, outdated narratives and political models. I'm not sure nominating Joe in 2020 will help us reverse course on that impression. I'd obviously vote for him, but we need someone who is going to turn out new, additional voters.
