A friend is working on a project and needs input re: the name, so a few of us are sharing with our online communities.
It's a project intended to catalyze more caring communities via Caring Culture, Caring Democracy and a Caring Economy.
The tug-of-war right now with the other person involved in developing this project is between these two memes:
#CaringHUMANS vs #CaringCITIZENS
My friend and I see CaringCITIZENS as a submeme of CaringHUMANS -- focused on the Caring Democracy phase of the project.
In this horrible climate regarding immigration and refugees, my friend's fear is that the word "citizen" may seem to indicate that undocumented persons aren't welcome to participate. (Unless there is a way to clearly convey that GLOBAL CITIZEN is the intent.)
Plus, another intention is to create an inviting space for those who are more apathetic about politics (we all know the "I don't DO politics" people), and it seems in many cases the word "citizen" evokes politics and would cause them to turn away.
Many variations have been explored and vetted.
It's down to these two self-identifying memes.
If you could limit it to these two options and share your preference -- between #CaringHUMANS vs #CaringCITIZENS -- that would be great.
THANKS.
