Saw something in my morning newspaper stating the Trump administration has said there is no evidence students do worse academically when they are hungry,
in response to Trump cutting funding for school meal programs.

WW2 allowed the united states to take a rather serious look at the physical health of the american male population.

they found that a high percentage of draft rejects were due to nutritional problems. The school lunch program started by truman was a way to improve the physical quality of the draft pool for future conflicts.
