Now that Flynn is ratting him out, Trump is running scared.

I do know he's disappointed in the job. Too many people get to tell him "no." He doesn't like being told no.

(81,304 posts)HOWEVER... it's good that stuff like this is starting to circulate on the internet. People are gonna see it, talk about it, refer to it, and spread it. That's good stuff. Remember that lesson that LBJ is said to have taught political people everywhere. When he was just starting his political career in Texas, in an early campaign he said his opponent slept with pigs. And he knew it wasn't true. He was asked about it. Being true or false wasn't the point. The point was "make him deny it."
It can be an advantage to have that meme starting to circulate. The press will inevitably pick up on it, and ask about it. Which means it'll wind up among the punditry, kicking it around every chance they get. And the more exposure it gets with the public, the more it becomes "a thing." That may start growing legs. It plants the idea in more people's heads and helps make it more of a credible concept. People who wouldn't have thought of that suddenly consider it. It enters the realm of possibility that way, and MAN does it put the target on the defensive! You don't want that kind of talk starting to grow legs around you. THAT'S not what you want people talking about. AT ALL. Particularly if your "presidency" is all surface image with nothing of substance or value behind it.

(111,270 posts)so I know the power of a good rumor mill. What has astonished me in recent years is how much of the stuff we speculated about was confirmed when Nixon's WH tapes were finally declassified. He was exactly as bad as we all thought he was.
calimary
(81,304 posts)I remember when the rumor mill was going nuts. You had to know it was really screwing with White House staff morale. Screwed with GOP collective morale, too.
Destabilize the enemy. Then they start screwing up. They lose track of stuff - like keeping their facts straight. Hard to do that when you're covering for the truth and lyong about it and embroidering lots of complex "explanations" that make no sense. That perks up the ears of the press. And what they report just adds to the pressure and stress.
When you're stressed, you get tired more easily. And then you toss 'n' turn in bed at night and don't get any sleep. Which, in turn, adds to your fatigue, promotes fights and arguments at work because EVERYBODY'S on edge, worried about their jobs and in some cases worried about legal problems and having to lawyer up. And THAT will certainly lead to more stress. I don't know how many of the "extended family" would easily becable to afford to lawyer up.
Conditions like those can beget all kinds of ancillary misery (divorce, sell the house, hit the bottle, file for bankruptcy, and more, not to mention the need to look for other employment).

(82,849 posts)The obvious question is where is President Trump spending the weekend? Is the heat sufficiently on that he needs to stay close to the White House, or is he flouncing off to Mar-A-Lago for another "intense" weekend of "work"?
Curious thing I noticed: The MSN home page has nothing in their rotating headlines directly about President Trump. There's one small story about the White House finally complying with ethics rules (they're supposed to do it within 30 days) and promising to release financial information about high-ranking officials (which doesn't include the President and Vice President).

He's far too narcissistic and his ego is far too big for him to ever admit that he's done anybody wrong, so a resignation is not in the cards. GOD, I'd love to be proven wrong, but I won't be. Of course in his tiny brain-damaged mind, everybody's done HIM wrong and damaged HIM though. Disgraced former NSA thug Flynn may eventually flip on him, but tRumputin's not going to be arrested, hauled out or perp-walked into jail in a giant orange jump suit. Yet, he HATES the way things are going with the slow-rolling, administration implosion happening right before his beady eyes. Also, he owes putin too much, and he knows that if he makes putin too angry, putin will do a number on HIM IE: make sure his taxes and other damaging things get out there.
Also, he's in debt to putin whose been working with and coaching him for a while. putin wants to drill over in the Arctic caps, for him to help break up the EU, get rid of NATO and destabilize and turn THIS country into a Banana Republic where we're all fighting over HERE, and where this country goes into massive debt. tRumputin's in debt up to his beady eyeballs to the russian oligarchs, and he dare not stiff THEM. What role will our intelligence agencies play in this, and more importantly, what will their criminal investigation yield as it relates to tRumputin/russia collusion into our past elections. Who'll be punished and how? tRumputin is an illegitimate president, but what's the remedy to that? pence? I have the feeling that he's more involved in this whole ressia-gate thing then we're talking about.
And finally, since he's not a real billionaire he's taking every opportunity as installed president of the currently richest country in the world, to get his billionaire deplorables, organized crime buddies, putin, himself and his thieving, money-grubbing, grifting on steroids family in a position to "Grab That Dough." tRumputin wants to become the kind of rich authoritarian his buddy putin is over there with his Kleptocracy. tRumputin, like his buddy putin doesn't give a DAMN about their country nor about it's peoples. BOTH of them want to steal, lie and grift. tRumputin though wants to have the presidency on his resume and to make everybody's life--except HIS own worthless life, miserable. Oh, and to help the ruskies "Be GREAT," help them spread mass information, lies, fake news, distortions via ruskie bots, blogs, Sputnik, RT television etc. Where will ass these investigations go? Where anything leads to and ends in the short term with tRumputin and this whole russia-gate situation, who knows. We're in an extremely DARK & murky time right now where every road leads to russia.

(5,501 posts)Sorry for a pointless tautology, but Jester may or may not be telling the truth. His "intelligence sources" could be pure fiction. (8,718 posts)Meet the vigilante who hacks jihadists
Anonymous isn't doing anything new by hacking Islamic extremist websites. A mysterious figure known as "The Jester" has been at it for five years.
Jester has single-handedly taken down dozens of websites that, he deems, support jihadist propaganda and recruitment efforts. He stopped counting at 179.
To some, he's an Internet superhero. Think Batman, with all the vengeance-laden moral qualms of vigilantism included.
"I realized something needed to be done about online radicalization and 'grooming' of wannabe jihadis, and we didn't have mechanisms to deal with it," Jester said in an interview with CNNMoney. "I decided to start disrupting them."
Little is actually known about Jester, other than his public persona on Twitter as @th3j35t3r: He is unapologetic, unabashedly pro-America and full of military jargon.
Jester first appeared on Twitter on Dec. 19, 2009. Since then, he's used his computer hacking skills to shut down, deface or expose anything he considers threatening to the United States -- especially if it endangers soldiers. If a legitimate company is hosting the site, it usually gets a brief warning before he attacks.

He'd probably like to resign, just go back to playing golf and groping women, but the Russians would leave him bankrupt. I took the attack on the Freedumb Cacas to be a plea for help: "Please, Republicans, get so disgusted with me that you impeach me and get me outta here!" His only way out is if it looks beyond his control.

(2,226 posts)And there was collusion from the trump campaign, then the whole election, including Pence, is illegitimate and we need to start over. It should make every cabinet appointment and every signing statement null and void. Why should Americans be stuck with the swamp cruds. We want a clean house.

(42,714 posts)there are only three ways Trump leaves office before his term is over:
1. Resignation
2. Impeachment and conviction
3. 25th Amendment
Nothing else is authorized by the Constitution.

(49,002 posts)At some point 1 month, 3 months, 6 months, a year from now, 2 years, ... tRump will resign. I do not think he will serve a full term. He will either be impeached and resign or be about to be impeached and resign (like Nixon) or flat out resign even before the Republicons start to think seriously about impeaching him.
So a rumor like this will eventually come true.
Absent some solid credible indication, these kinds of rumors are a waste of energy and emotion. (Regardless that we will all celebrate when the time comes.)
