I am always shocked at how heartless the GOP is, .... $15,000 yearly..... jesuz, as a worker who has had lower wage jobs most my life, i just want to puke. My heart aches for the families this will hurt.

Well, until the locals do something Republicans don't like. The additional dollop of hypocrisy on this move is that when states want to raise the minimum wage for the whole state, Republicans whine and moan about how the most rural sectors of the state can't possibly afford to pay people a whopping $10 an hour, and besides, the cost of living is much lower in the hinterlands, and you sniffy big city elites don't know how things are done in the countryside.

So, the big cities and populous counties raise their minimum wage, and when Republicans control the state government, they not only roll back the increases, but they padlock the door by pre-empting everyone else from raising wages locally because freedom or something.
