The sheer stupidity of Trump suggesting that Flynn request immunity

Trump can, right now, pardon Flynn prospectively for any charges arising from Flynn's testimony.

If Trump thinks Flynn should have immunity, then does that idiot not understand he is the president, and can effectively do the same thing?

It's just amazing how f-ing stupid Trump is.

"appearance" that he has nothing to hide, but he also knows they aren't going to give Flynn immunity

trump is just trying to detract from his involvement. It won't work though

Of course if he attacks North Korea, or some other country, that would move attention away from the situation. Eventually, that would fail too, but a lot more people would be hurt in the process

Of course he doesn't want Flint to be granted immunity. He knows what the guy has on him.

If pardoned could he still be called to testify and can he still claim 5th amendment protections. If not trump would be shooting himself in the foot?

If Flynn were to receive a pardon, he could not assert his 5th Amendment rights during testimony. There would be no risk of self incrimination due to the pardon, so he would be compelled to answer questions. The only thing that could save Trump at that point would be if Flynn pulled an Ollie North and tried to take full blame for everything. I have a feeling there is too much evidence already in the hands of the FBI for that to hold water.

Flynn may still be trying to be the good soldier, and protect Trump at all costs. If Flynn decides the questions are drawing him too close to revealing damaging information, he might try to obfuscate, lie or refuse to answer those questions. The pardon wouldn't excuse him from obstruction/perjury charges.
