cnn had a half-dozen deplorables on discussing trump and russia

these people live in an alternative reality.

they feel trump is being persecuted by democrats and the media

'putin has done a pretty good job with his agenda' wtf?

they don't care about russia

it's Hillary's people who are bringing all this up on trump.

i personally don't give a shit about these people and they are deplorable.

These are axe-grinding addicts, accustomed to frequent snorts of the grinding dust, and they're convinced their suppliers are such nice men who are absolutely not pushers.

They all seemed incredibly misinformed and incable of critical thought.

I'm not sure what the point of this segment was, other than to demonstrate that Trump supporters are ignorant.

It is a reminder what we face in a country so divided. Ignoring that segment is costly, so best to have it exposed for all to see.

................she would have been impeached within minutes of taking the Oath of Office. It wouldn't have mattered. She could have been the reincarnation of Jesus and Superman in one body, and the Congressional Republicans still would have impeached her long ago. They were talking about it months before the election was even held. She's almost better off having NOT won. The Republicans would have blocked literally everything she tried to do, would have complained she was ineffective, and then would have impeached her based on nothing a long time ago. At the very least, this way people actually get to see Trump's incompetence, and it will result in everyone but the hardest of the hardcore deplorables turning on the entire Republican party. I predicted that Trump would be SO bad that we'd see a tsunami of Democratic wins in 2018 and 2020, and I stand by that. It would have gone the other way had Hillary actually been allowed to win.

Politics, religion, sports teams etc. Humans are not rational creatures. Like everything our brains are products of our evolutionary past. Our brains are not optimized for reason, our brains are optimized to keep us alive and to hopefully have some kids.

So the natural state of human thinking is not reason, it is not logic. It is emotion. And we come up with excuses to think why we believe something after the fact.

In politics, we make a decision and then minimize the facts against us and emphasize those facts that agree with us.

Everyone does it.

You start with your conclusion and work backwards to justify it, ignoring facts that disconfirm your conclusion.

See confirmation bias.

We do it too but not as extravagantly. I can't imagine acting like they do.
