What role has Rep. Devin Nunes played in this scandal?
If he had not gone to the White House, this story would not have broken when it did.
Then he talked to the press, twice. He said he felt obligated to tell the President. He participated in an elaborate choreographed plan to deceive everyone into believing he had some incriminating evidence against the FBI and intelligence people, the manner in which some names were "unmasked", and he could not tell anyone else on the Intelligence Committee about it. He could only tell the President. The national security guys, in the White House, gave him the documents and he gave the documents to Trump. The whole purpose was to somehow vindicate Trump from his lie about former President Obama. He was a useful tool for the White House cabal.
He panicked. He jumped out of the car, with his staff inside, and grabbed an Uber and sped away. He did just what he was asked to do. I doubt that he was fully aware of how he was being used? He volunteered anyway. Does that make him any less guilty?
Was he a player or was he played? Was he the low man on the totem pole?

(6,716 posts)I'm fairly confident he got totally played. Either way, I don't care...he needs to go!

(46,166 posts)He was chosen for a role and he played it. Badly, but he did what the Executive Branch told him to do. Imo, that is.

(19,962 posts)said he went to Ryan and it was Ryan who advised him to go tell Trump. There's been little or no follow up with Ryan on this.

(16,863 posts)Nunes jumped out of the car that night, because it had been discovered that he, in his role on Trumps transition team, was on those recorded messages. Yes, he is a stooge for Trump, but his nonsense in the media reeks of a man trying to cover his own culpability.
