Now that our ISP's can sell our browsing history what about our passwords? Will they be sold also?
Just what are the boundaries?

(1,629 posts)If site PWs were for sale... there would soon be an underground market of selling profiles and/or blacklists to employers so they'd not even waste their time on some applicants.

(38,018 posts)Password trading and selling already exists within criminal elements and has existed since almost the beginning of the web. As I said, let's hope it doesn't come to that.

(1,629 posts)To our ISP accounts? Or to sites like DU which STILL hasn't implemented HTTPS... so all our login info is transmitted in the clear.

Anything that has been collected will be misused sooner or later.
We should not expect amoral if not sociopathic corporations to behave.
