Holy Crap! We really need to help our President.

I know $$ is tight for alot of us - but this is kinda embarrassing.
I'm going to donate a few bucks.

Exclusive: President Obama Asks Campaign Donors to Send Him More Money
by Lloyd Grove Jun 30, 2012 6:40 PM EDT
In an anxious conference call from Air Force One, Obama asked campaign donors to send more money. Lloyd Grove obtained the tape and describes the presidential pitch.

President Obama sounded weary and maybe a tad worried late Friday during a rambling conference call with campaign donors whom he repeatedly begged to send money—and send it now.

We need to have his back and we definitely cannot let the gopers win.

Fox Nation reports Onion article about Obama email as true

Depressed Obama is reported to have sent out long email to all Americans. But the story, reported as fact on Fox Nation, was a satirical (i.e. intentionally false) article first run at The Onion. Fox Nation did not initially point this out to its readers.

Close to the same language, tone and most of the links are RW talking points. This was posted on a GOP's Facebook page a while, too. Remember this one?

You guys decide, I don't believe the OP posted something wrong on purpose, but the source is doubtful, I've been told.

And we are all right to be concerned! I don't know if I even trust this source, but it says the GOP is out spending the OFA campaign:

Obama campaign says it expects to be outspent

http://finance.yahoo.com/news/obama-campaign-says-expects-outspent-183353377.html

We have to donate now, this is the last chance to stop the juggernaut that is strangling the country.

I apologize if that seems an accusation to your OP, because you are right, we are in the fight of our lives here but I was answering to the tone of the article.

If we don't win - and they are doing all they can to steal the election, the result will be fatal. We've got to win this. Everyone needs to give all they can!

Thank you for the concern that caused you to post the OP, whether it is true or not, we don't know. Thanks for posting so we keep the donation link in view.

P. S. I was read the riot act for citing The Daily Beast last week!

Obama sounding "weary and maybe a tad worried"? Making an "18-minute pleading"?

That's total BS, trying to make something negative out of the usual appeals for campaign donations. And if you're like a of of us who have donated before, you know that we get these appeals in our email inbox EVERY SINGLE DAY. I think I get at least three of these every day, from the President, the First Lady, prominent members of Congress, and other surrogates.

DB's writer needs to be fired for this bogus sensationalist story.

Today is one of the most important fundraising deadlines of this campaign so far.

We might not outraise Mitt Romney.

But I am determined to keep the margin close enough that we can win this election the right way.

To do that I need your help today.

Please donate $5 or more before tonight's deadline:

The stakes in this election are real. Thanks for all your support so far.

If he was repeatedly asking for money to be sent "now", it was likely to help the fire victims. 33,000 people were displaced in Colorado Springs alone. Hundreds of homes were destroyed. Two people have died. And, it's nowhere near being over. That would wear on any decent, responsible human being. The callous turd who wrote this article doesn't fit that description.

Because I know your posting history, I know you wanted to convey the urgency, but I really dislike the author's take on this.

We've always known we'd be outspent. But the desperate tone of the o.p. doesn't instill the confidence we should be projecting. JMHO.

comment from Susan Opton:

I was on that call and it was neither rambling, begging, weary or worried. It was inspirational and exciting to those of us who were listening.

What other US President has ever connected with the American people directly the way Obama does? None.

And yes, if you knew that gazillionairs were writing checks for $100 million dollars and promising to spend limitless amounts of money to crush the possibility of THE 99% getting ahead, you would ring the alarm bells and ask people to step up earlier, rather than later.

MA is a perfect example, where everyone sat back just assuming that Ted Kennedy's seat would stay Democratic. That's how Scott Brown weaseled in and now everyone is smartening up to him.

Obama was crisp, clear, and sounded like a regular guy who is up against the fight of his life. I thought the tone was perfect.

Give, Give as much as you can, give NOW, because later is not as helpful.

I suppose if you hear the call from a tape as a reporter, you might not feel the excitement and thrill that the supporters felt hearing The President of the United States "live" from Airforce One. It was amazing!!!!!!!!!!!

Don't let's be taken in by hyperbolic, sensationalist crap journalism. That being said, the Koch billions have to be countered, so GIVE WHAT YOU CAN!
