Who Stopped the Republican Health Bill?

33 Republicans who would not budge from their decisions to vote “no” on the health care bill were key to causing its collapse. They can be divided into three broad categories:

The Times identified the 33 in a survey of representatives conducted in the days leading up to the scheduled vote.

We'll never know, which is exactly why Ryan refused to call a vote. I'm thinking there would have been more "no" voted if they had voted. Knowing how unpopular this thing was, he didn't want our side to have pre-written campaign ads for next fall.
My congressperson, a "moderate" was one of the "no" votes per this article. We'll never know if he was going to bow to pressure or not.

We need to make people remember in 2018 what they tried (and may try again) to pull- and why it failed

Neither group was, in itself, enough to scuttle the bill, but let's not give the "Freedom Caucus" 100% of the credit on this.

Also - let's give a little credit to the discipline of the democrats who made it clear that the GOP cound expect exactly zero democratic votes.

And the Democratic congress stopped it.

Thanks to the ACA and President Obama's actions and words a majority of Americans now consider health care a right. The conservatives just found that out but have yet to admit it.

any congressman is listening to his constituents and more importantly the local "money men" who bring them to the dance.

Everyone know Trump is a trainwreck and his downfall with start from the bottom up.

The bill wasn't conservative enough for them, it didn't kill enough people
