They must have a reason for testifying to the intel committee, and it can't be good.
I think that they and their cohorts were put in place in the administration to assure Putin that the sanctions would get lifted and they are running out of time since Trump is blowing up his presidency.
Maybe they are going to throw someone else under the bus. Flynn?
This can't be good.

(60,010 posts)I saw that tv interview he did.....his tongue outraces his brain very easily, and he lets loose with contradictory statements on a matter of fact basis.
Stone has an equally loose mouth, but he tends to think.
Manafort has been playing with the Russians and the Ukrainians for years, he will never talk about that, too many of his pals have ended up dead.
He might turn on just Trump stuff, tho, if it is true that Treasury has been after him for all the
Russian/Ukraine money laundering he did.
that will be interesting.
trump, of course, lies about everything, all the time, both sides of the story.
He even denies saying things that are in film!
Halfway decent lawyer would plead diminished capacity.

If the Russians cross the line to take out a us conspirator, he's the odds on favorite to be the first to go.

Does anyone else find it curious that Manafort, Stone and Page are all suddenly "eager" to talk just after Nunes rushed over to Trump to talk about incidental collection during legal FISA SIGINT intercepts?

that's why they're talking. they want the same deal North got.

they may be crooked, lying, treasonous assferrets, but they have the best legal advice millions of rubles can buy:
North's convictions were vacated on July 20, 1990, after the appeals court found that witnesses in his trial might have been impermissibly affected by his immunized congressional testimony.
can't believe this is getting zero coverage on TV (well, considering what's out there today, maybe not), if Manstonepage spill the beans, instead of continuing to lie their asses off, this has got to become the foundation of the unraveling of this bunch of america hating traitors.
how can it not? dems better put their stompin' boots on, and fight like benghazi KGOPers on this one

(5,271 posts)Man/Page/Stone all have high powered Repub lawyers who have consulted this past week and concocted this scheme to try to save them by this stunt of coming in front of Congress publicly in hopes of mucking up any prosecutions they could face and hoping for same kind of outcome that overturned North's convictions.

(153,179 posts)Stone added, I am more than anxious to testify before the house committee that I have had no contact with the Russian state and that my limited contacts with Guccifer 2.0 were innocuous in content and came only after hacking of the DNC documents which is the crime we are accused of colluding on. Impossible.

(9,600 posts)The chairman of the House intelligence Nunes will run interference for them. That is why they are all suddenly running to the house investigation. Nunes will probably give them written questions the committee will be allowed to ask.

It's a fucking joke and the only reason I think it's okay to go through with the travesty at all is that there will be a record of their lies-- making it easier to charge them.
Lets never forget that Manafort took millions of dollars (that we KNOW OF) to push the Russian agenda. I'd bet he's about to earn some more money w/ his testimony.

(68,643 posts)allow them to testify to Congress without a deal...sounds like bullshit like the Nunes thing...be wary. It won't work of course...everyday more and more damaging information comes out. The 'president' is not only illegitimate but it is become clearer that he is a traitor that sold out this country.

(51,129 posts)Watch them blame Obama for illegal political spying on a Republican campaign.
These guys are old hats at espionage and dirty tricks. They know all about the law and how to avoid jurisdiction over their actions, using buffers (mob term for intermediaries so no one can link them to crimes), and they are bald-faced liars who have done whatever it takes to achieve political ends, including allegedly murder. Manafort's daughter's phone was hacked and even his kids talk about the blood on his hands, but you can bet there is no evidence trail to connect him to those deaths.
And the compliant media will be a pre-scripted part of the conspiracy to make this all about Obama's political crimes.
