Since the current administration and the republican congress hate the ACA might they collude with health insurance companies to cause the ACA to fail?

(1,182 posts)with red state legislatures preventing the roll-out of Medicaid and proper non-profit exchanges in all 50 states --the primary reason for their endlessly exclaiming Obamacare's "insolvency".
Do everything you can to trash it, then say it doesn't work. Same game plan since Reagan warned that Medicare would kill freedom itself.

(3,427 posts)I do think a lot more of them will leave the exchanges or jack up their prices next year because of all the uncertainty created by the republicans. Would have been nice to have a public option to fall back on.
At least the people on Medicaid will get a reprieve for the time being, which is good. But I have no doubt they'll be coming after that again.

(34,661 posts)is and was circling this whole POS of a so called Health Care what ever. Anthem Blue Cross and Cigna are going to revive their 54 billion dollar merger. And these two Insurance Companies had structured their deal predicated on the Tax Dollar Transfer from the Treasury to their coffers.

(50,302 posts)"plan" would cost them tens of millions of customers. People aren't going to pay what it would probably cost for a plan that included all the "frivolous" things the GOP pointed out like prenatal care, emergency room visits, preventive care, etc. Maybe insurance companies will figure a taste of the pie is better than none of the pie.

(5,240 posts)money from the ACA customers. With the rules and regulations that are part of the ACA the insurance companies can't sell the policies that were basically a rip-off but were very profitable and they have to take pre-existing conditions. I think insurance companies made more profits before the ACA and would love to see it disappear.
