He's calling for Comey to recuse himself on the grounds that he won't be fair to Trump.
I'm including the links to Fox because that's where Kucinich has most recently shown his true colors.
Kucinich said this after the inauguration:
"GREAT #inauguration speech @RealDonaldTrump!" Kucinich tapped out on Twitter soon after the speech. "Congratulations & best wishes from Dennis & Elizabeth Kucinich watching from Beirut, Lebanon," he added in the tweet, which included American flag emojis.

Kucinich said this in February:
http://insider.foxnews.com/2017/02/14/kucinich-intelligence-community-games-trying-upend-trump
Kucinich said Trump must get a hold of the intelligence community because he believes there is "definitely something going on" to undermine the president.
AND this is what Kucinich is saying now:

A torrent of leaks and partisan charges has been passed off as fact. But was the Russia investigation, excuse the expression, a red herring?
SNIP
Director Comey has put himself in an untenable position. He has a vested interest in focusing on Trump and Russia, because that narrative diverts our attention from his personal effect on the outcome of the 2016 election.
At best, this is the textbook definition of a conflict of interest. At worst, its bait-and-switch.

(30,481 posts)His point is well made. Comey has a vested interest in moving on in a grand way. How deep his cover goes we might never know. The other day he said he cleared it with the JD before stating some members of Trumps team were caught up in surveillance. With Clinton he went rogue. That is a BFD. If he can keep democrats happy that he is looking into Trump then they might not remember to look back.
If it was appropriate to withhold information about an investigation into the Trump campaign in July, he should have applied that same logic to the Clinton campaign in October. Hillary Clinton, charged not with a crime but by innuendo, paid the price at the polls. She was convicted in the court of public opinion.
Comeys announcement this week that the FBI was investigating possible collusion between the Trump campaign and the Russian government made national and world headlines and rocked the White House.
But why now? Why not eight months ago? Has new, substantive information been brought forward? Was there even a real investigation in July? Or did an insider leak a story to the FBI back then for political purposes?
Someone on the House or Senate Judiciary Committee should ask for the FBI agents time sheets over the past eight months to see if the Bureau was actually investigating, or whether this is another case of abuse of process using an alleged investigation to smear a candidate.

(30,481 posts)Like me, he hasn't forgotten how rotten Comey is. He shouldn't be in the position he is. He upended a Presidential election. I get that you think he should still be Director after doing so. I think he should be let go and fully investigated. Then again, I don't think it is currently possible to get rid of him unless congressional Republicans want him gone. He helped them to win an election so I doubt it.
Never forget that he upended an election in favor of Trump. As close as the election was, his single move might have been enough. It's unacceptable for the Director to do so. Many of us won't forget so easily.
Kucinich is well situated on the left. Nothing more than attacking the left here.

Your trust in Comey is misplaced as is your characterization of Kucinich.

(108,990 posts)who would never appear at a CPAC conference. And many Kucinich supporters went on to support Bernie.
Your first post here was well taken. I did add other statements of Kucinich's to the OP, so people can see his recent statement in context -- such as when he lauded DT for his "great" inauguration speech.

(30,481 posts)I have no interest in arguing Sanders. You can have at that. Kucinich is well on the left and your trust in Comey is misplaced.

That's disappointing but not isolated. Several other media persona have gone down a similar path.

(30,481 posts)It's a very reasonable piece and he doesn't want to simply forget what he did to upend an election.

(108,990 posts)And Kucinich has been a DT apologist starting during the campaign.
Here was a Feb. 2017 statement:
http://insider.foxnews.com/2017/02/14/kucinich-intelligence-community-games-trying-upend-trump
"What's going on in the intelligence community with this president is unprecedented," he said. "They're making every effort to upend him. Who knows what the truth is anymore?"
Kucinich said Trump must get a hold of the intelligence community because he believes there is "definitely something going on" to undermine the president.

Pretty stupid reasoning.
We do, however, need a special prosecutor like yesterday.

Again, I get that healthcare for all is the dark side to you. Above, when looking for the name of someone solidly on the left, you couldn't pull out one Democrats name. Transparent. Clear trend of attacking the left.
Another edit or two and it will be great. I promise.

(5 posts)The fact he is on Fox News in bad enough, but wtf! Has he come down with dementia? I worked on his short lived campaign for president way back in the day with a group of some amazing older people( I was too young to appreciate how cool they actually were) Totally a long shot at the time, but he was the coolest dude- driving his hippie van, this down to earth vegan guy- he spoke so casually about changing the system. Obviously that was a bummer year. His wife Elizabeth also does some incredible work. I saw her speak at Bioneers on sustainable agriculture/ biodynamics and the importance of soil. Of course this was before Bernie and I was thinking " he should run again, Elizabeth would be a kick ass FLOTUS.
It seems there is a particular sort of itis that develops in people who seek to change the system and get within the political apparatus, or are offered ridiculous money( as goes the case in MSM spots or speaking fees to random think tanks etc) to do shit they should be doing for little to nothing. They either burn out and drop out, become way too vanilla or apologetic for their beliefs, or they sell out completely. I think there is a very small exception to the rule. You have to be willing to be unpopular to be legit, you have to be able to raise money without taking any from big money,or at the very least taking it from unethical industry or companies, and you have to be chronically cynical of your coworkers and the system. Not too many of those.
I think that most people know at some level the system won't be changed politely,if it can be changed at all. Reform is simply not good enough. Capitalism, hierarchy, and the dangerous and unrealistic model of endless growth is what turns the gears of power in this country, and unless one can put enough wrenches in those gears to break it, nothing will change. If it does, it will be temporary. We have seen it ever 70-80 years in this struggle to balance the scales. The fatigue suffered when a passionate hopeful person experiences when they not just mentally know but see first hand from the inside, just how deeply corrupt and complicated the government and history of this country is, has to be mind numbing.
You never know though, maybe people could trick Trump into doing progressive things by kissing his ass and making him feel like a working class hero and champion of planet earth. Right. Lol. Someone needs to be dropping some mind expansion substances in his McDonalds lunches everyday. Maybe Trump just needs to reconcile the hurt he must have experienced psychologically. If Wallace could have a change of heart, anyone could, right? It's just about who makes him feel the most heroic. Perhaps the left is going about this wrong. ( there is no way I could play long game manipulation personally. I am allergic to kissing ass) but some people are good at it. Look at his GOP minions. You know they hate him for reelz

(11,936 posts)My wife actually supported him in 2008. I kept telling her there was something off about him. He pretends to be what Bernie Sanders actually is.
Of course, she switched to John Edwards after that and I said the same thing... the constant blinking was always a big tell for me.
I got on the Obama train the night of the "Yes We Can" speech and never looked back. She joined me after Edwards dropped out and endorsed him.
