They never were babies. They never had children. They never had wives or daughters. Or maybe it's just that they always had adequate resources so they don't give a shit about those who don't. And they are probably ardent prolifers; shouldn't they be concerned about prenatal care and safe delivery? Or don't they care whether the fetus they saved is actually healthy and its mother survives giving birth to it?

Rhetorical questions, obviously...

that isn't covered by their own healthcare plans.

Other than that, they may have a nice day!

What could possibly be their reason other that burning, passionate misogyny? How dare they!

...these are members of the rightwing 'Freedom Caucus' meeting with Trump today who have made plain their objections to maternity coverage and mental health benefits, among other things.

...here's an article:

(CNN)House GOP leaders are now looking to change an Obamacare provision that guarantees all health insurers cover services such as maternity, mental health and prescription drugs, in hopes of wooing conservative lawmakers to their side.

The dramatic shift -- which would strike at blow at the heart of Obamacare -- comes after conservative Freedom Caucus members lobbied President Donald Trump Wednesday to eliminate the provision, which is not in the current GOP health care plan.

The measure requires insurers to cover 10 "essential health benefits" in all policies. It has made coverage more comprehensive and prevented insurers from selling skimpy plans that were cheap, but didn't offer many benefits -- often leaving consumers with big bills if they needed care.

Prior to the Affordable Care Act, costly items such maternity, prescription drugs, mental health and substance abuse were often not an option for many buying policies in the individual market.

Removing the provision could also greatly weaken the law's protection of those with pre-existing conditions. Without the requirement to cover comprehensive policies, insurers could opt exclude some of the priciest services that sick Americans need. Carriers would also no longer have to cover annual exams and preventative tests free of charge.

Honestly, I believe this is their motivation: a eugenics-inspired move to reduce and eventually eradicate the population of lower-income people (read a large dose of racism into this as well). There is much ideological content buried in budgets and legislation. In Obama's, these always contained ways, small and large, to lift up the least among us, as well as those hovering in the middle class. With the Republicans, it's always about ways (usually large) to suppress the least while assisting the most privileged.

There is so much wrong with this I could scream: misogyny, disregard for human life (a real problem for those who claim to revere it), medical ignorance, mean-spiritedness. They are evildoers.

You'll give birth in pain and blood and you're on your own because you're sinful and you deserve it. Men? Oh, we get a pass.
