The FBI has 100 agents on the case, I read somewhere.

Suddenly, Watergate seems like a mere ripple in American history. This is about successfully overthrowing the government, the FBI knew it was ongoing, and they waited until they had the goods on everyone in all probability. We didn't hear about it until they could convict everyone right up to the very top of the conspiracy.

You could question why Comey did not speak of this investigation - and contrast his williness to speak of Clinton's. However, the Clinton issue was known BEFORE there was an FBI investigation. None of the intelligence agencies started that.

What is more suspicious now -- and it was already suspicious -- is that he opted to make public that emails were found on Weiner's laptop. At the time it seems weird, as the most likely reason was that Huma had checked her email there. That would have brought in the SAME email as on other Hume devices. I can understand they would want to check if there was anything new, but a public statement on that was not needed. His argument was that if anything changed from his July statement, he would tell Congress. However, NOTHING had happened yet to change the story.

Now add in that he knew, but couldn't say that Trump WAS under investigation. It makes his putting his finger on the scale look reckless as well as partisan - rather than just partisan. Maybe years from now, he or people near him will explain why he did what he did. This does rule out that he was so straight laced and rigid on following both laws and rules that seeing that these emails were on Weiner's laptop -- where however explainable because of their relationship, that he felt she had so violated rules that he needed to speak out.

election and that the Republicans would make it a huge scandal involving him covering up and breaking his word that he would say something if anything changed.

You would then have the same story -- emails on Weiner's computer -- with the added argument that Obama's justice department - including the FBI was covering it up.

One reason to fear the Republicans is that they likely would have pulled him before a hearing trying to destroy his reputation. However, if he feared for his reputation -- why did he stay silent on Trump. The only thing I can think of is that President Obama himself spoke of Russia interfering, though he did not go the extra step and spek of Trump involvement. Some Clinton people pointed out that Roger Stone and Guiliani BOTH knew of hacker stuff before it happened.

Consider who must be involved in a FISA request. There is a secret court overseeing the case, maybe even issuing secret warrants and subpoenas, including one that triggered the White House ordering document retention (and production, I assume).

Comey is working under direct supervision and his ass is on the line. At the same time, this is so secret Clapper was not briefed.

FISA makes it top secret and so he could say nothing. But the emails were part of an ongoing FBI investigation which was not at that level and under his purview. Still, he had to know he was risking the election outcome to save his own ass.

He's not a good guy. Endorsed "enhanced interrogation". Was involved in the WhiteWater investigation.

What the hell does that mean? Seems the same thing we have been talking about for months. trump stooges met with Russians - no shit!

The FBI cannot yet prove that collusion took place, but the information suggesting collusion is now a large focus of the investigation, the officials said.

Donald Trump invited Russia to hack Hillary Clinton's emails on Wednesday, asking one of America’s longstanding geopolitical adversaries to find “the 30,000 emails that are missing” from the personal server she used during her time as secretary of state.

“I will tell you this, Russia: If you’re listening, I hope you’re able to find the 30,000 emails that are missing,” the Republican nominee said at a news conference in Florida. “I think you will probably be rewarded mightily by our press.”

Trump’s comments set off an immediate uproar from the Clinton campaign, which blasted the remarks as a threat to national security.

“This has to be the first time that a major presidential candidate has actively encouraged a foreign power to conduct espionage against his political opponent,” Hillary for America policy adviser Jake Sullivan said in a statement. "That’s not hyperbole, those are just the facts. This has gone from being a matter of curiosity, and a matter of politics, to being a national security issue."Donald Trump invited Russia to hack Hillary Clinton's emails on Wednesday, asking one of America’s longstanding geopolitical adversaries to find “the 30,000 emails that are missing” from the personal server she used during her time as secretary of state."

Can't we for god's sake mount a massive enough national protest when more of this comes out to force that point! This election was fraudulent, a farce and criminal. WE SHOULD DEMAND A DO OVER NATIONALLY! DEMOCRACY IS AT STAKE ... and frankly has been at stake increasingly since Watergate.

I know we have no provision for something like this in our Constitution --- but this is also the most powerful point we can make -- THE ELECTION WAS CRIMINALLY AFFECTED BY MEMBERS OF THE GOP CAMPAIGN. NO ONE FROM THAT ELECTION should be allowed to retain their office without going through the process again -- and certainly no one who is implicated in this criminal activity should even be allowed that opportunity. THIS IS NUTS!

Are we -- the vast majority -- going to let them get away with once again STEALING the White House? Neither Pence nor Ryan deserve the chance to be President given what happened in this election!

THere -- I feel better now (not really).

He could wiggle his way out by throwing those associates to the wolves. I will be much happier when I see direct evidence of Trump involvement!

all his stooges being praised for their "loyalty". Drumpf will throw them under the bus in a heartbeat to save his own ass. Idiots.
