(11,564 posts)A President that was worthy of being mentioned in the same breath as Mr. Carter when it came to just plain human goodness. I just never expected one to come along.
That is high praise indeed for BHO, in my book. Prior to him, there wasn't another Emeritus on even the same plane as Jimmy Carter.
My undying respect and best wishes to this fine, fine man.

(30,481 posts)It was just months before he left the Baptist church. Great sermon. While he was seriously slowed by age, he was mentally as sharp as he ever was. That was beautiful to see.
I have a picture in my office with myself, President Carter, and the beautiful and smart FLOTUS. I loved my trip to peanut country.

(41,987 posts)I honestly don't care how people get through this life and what gives them strength, but he's an example of "do unto others" the likes of which we seldom see.
I was delighted to go to a book signing and exchange a brief greeting with him. I felt honored.

(11,443 posts)When I ask them why, they just babble and throw out words like 'leftist', 'anti-American', 'socialist', etc.. When I ask about what specific policies they don't like, its change the subject time. Mention he graduated from the US Naval Academy and spent several years serving his country compared to draft dodgers like Cheney, Limbaugh, McConnell, Trump, and other repukes who avoided serving their country at all costs, the conservation ends. Basically, all they know about him is bullshit they get from Fox News and other repuke talking heads.
