I'm thinking of setting up an automatic donation of $100 per month to the DCCC and $100 to the DNC. But I haven't done anything yet.
As far as my husband and I are concerned, our main goals are to build and strengthen the Democratic Party and to support and elect the most competitive Democratic candidates.
Is this the best use of our money? I've chosen to divide our newly available funds between the two most prominent and respected (in my view) Democratic organizations. Instead of picking-and-choosing and trying to figure out which candidates/causes/projects to make individual donations to, I basically wanted to make it easy and a "set-it-and-forget-it" process.
Your suggestions (or your nod of approval) will be welcomed.
Best,
Jackie
PS: He actually started quitting (with patches) at the beginning of the year. At this point, he's weaned himself off the patches and the cravings have stopped. So I'm confident enough in his continued success that I'm committing his smoke-money elsewhere. (And, this is also an incentive/reward for him to continue to stay-quit!!) :-D

(30,481 posts)I think the DNC is a great place for your money. Possibly stash a little to the side for races that you spot.
I'm really happy about your husband.

However He must surrender it if he starts again. Works!
