A new political ideology on the right is rising, but it's not neo-conservatism, but commentservatism

Look at the comment section of any website that lets anyone say anything... Yahoo news comes to mind and then look at the discourse we see in real life.

What you believe is secondary, how you express it is what is primary - Take a look at Trump with rapidly shifting positions, the ultimate style over substance guy. Then look at the right's rhetoric today, it is more important to be shocking and harmful to liberals and other forms of 'them' than to have beneficial and consistent positions on things. It's OK to lie or to be a hypocrite if you have a point to get across.

Anti-Expertise - All the experts on issues they don't like are wrong because they heard from some guy about something. If you don't like something, then it becomes "fake news", problem solved.

Strawmanism - If you spend enough time on one of these message boards, you may notice a message like this "Why do ALL liberals believe X?" with X being some fantastic belief that nobody believes or even thinks about. Somebody always replies with "I'm a liberal and I don't believe X", you may notice the person saying this never responds but may ask the same question again. Commentservatives have turned replacing their opponents with straw men into an art. And it doesn't apply to just liberals; transgender people are facing dehumanization through this rhetoric, Muslims are being turned into fantastic beings with mental powers, and more.

This is what the "alt-right" really is and commentservatism could very well become the totalitarianism of the 21st century if left unchecked.

Recently. This is so true. They just throw excrement around in case something sticks, with no concerns for truth or effect.

I was sitting in the laundromat with and a random though crossed my mind. What if somebody grabbed my cart with detergent and declared it was theirs. How would I be able to convince anybody that A)it was my detergent and B)talk this other person out of the belief it was theirs. The final scenario I ran through, and the one that made my final though click was this, just say fine you want a mostly empty 6 buck bottle of detergent then take it; going to blows over that is a waste of life energy.

It almost immediately dawned on me that this is exactly the game Republicans,Trump and their voters have been playing. They run up and shout some shit leaving the accused(us) the problem of unwinding it, and that crap worked. It's all about winning the argument no matter the defensibly of the position with them. Once this thing is over and they are out of power again. I hold that we have the right to completely ignore anything they say. Trump and his goons(the Republican Party) have done every single thing they accused Democrats of and their hypocritical voters don't care.

Whether it's the poor or liberals.

It is pathological.
