But many were afraid his divorce would be a factor.
Thankfully repubs threw out all the rules when they nominated trump.
Who cares about someone who is divorced when they put a Russian asset in the WH?

Former U.S. Sen. Russ Feingold announced Wednesday that he's launching a new group that will advocate for ending the Electoral College.
The group, LegitAction, also will focus on voting rights, campaign finance reform and "protecting the independence and credibility of" the U.S. Supreme Court, according to a release.
The group will advocate for "restoration and protection of a legitimate U.S. government that is accountable to its citizens," the release said.
It said the group will "empower individual citizens and grassroots organizations by educating and galvanizing grassroots supporters, providing them tools to demand change by connecting members to their representatives and other influencers."
