Guitar singing Trump supporter who attended 45 Trump rallies opposes president now

We are all humans. Reality has a tendency on sneaking up on flawed ideology and deceitful politicians. This Trump voter is a Donald Trump supporter no more.

Kraig Moss was a devoted Trump fan. He lost his son to a drug overdose and believed Trump's Wall was the answer to the drug problem. According to the Washington Post early in the campaign,

“I lost a lot of drive when I lost my son,” Moss said, while taking a break from playing on a frigid Thursday morning at a truck stop on the outskirts of Des Moines, Iowa. Drawn to Trump’s promises to build a wall across the U.S.-Mexico border, Moss believes the candidate is the one most capable of stopping the drug epidemic that he says claimed his beloved son, Rob "J.R." Moss.
Moss shadowed Trump throughout the campaign, attending over 45 rallies and singing the gospel according to the Donald. Trump promised to help addicted people throughout Trump Country. He even singled out Moss at one of the rallies. Moss has since soured on Donald Trump. CNN caught up with Kraig Moss in this excerpted video recently.

I am personally aware of a number of "remorseful" Trump voters who initially declared their sudden hatred of him and all things Republican, but already they've started drifting back the the Red.

I welcome the votes of anyone who sees the light, but until/unless they commit to voting Democrat, I'll believe it whee I see it.

I still worry 2018 is going to be tough in the senate. Our numbers suck and theirs are easy. What dang timing.

It's very important that we not become complacent about 2018 or 2020. We could easily wind up losing again if we simply assume that anti-Trump sentiment is strong enough to win the day.

We'll have both the Senate and the House while Trump supporters weep and plan new Tea Party rallies.

how many of his rallies were groupies that were following him around the country like Deadheads followed their fave band.

It would only take about 5,000 or so going from place to place to inflate his rally numbers. Hell, with the backing of the Koch's and Mercers, they could pay their expenses.

He has lost his son and will suffer forever with the thought that maybe something could have saved him. tRump knew that there was an audience looking for answers and being the master manipulator, he gave them simplistic answers. tRump assumes a persona in front of his fans. He is bombastic, rude and a bully. When the occasion calls for it, he assumes a different persona. Ever see him with that simpy, smarmy smile when he is being "nice Donald "? He doesn't use that one with his fans.

So they fell for his act and it is dawning on some of them that they were played for fools. The blowback won't be pretty and I doubt tRump will ever have a peaceful day again unless he goes into exile. We can only hope....but come to think of it, I would rather see him behind bars until he dies clothed in prison garb. No long red ties there....

Because his son overdosed I do feel a lbit more sympathy for him than I would for other Branch Trumpvidians. On the other hand, he supported an Orange Con Man, so what the hell did expect to happen?

What we do know about "maybe something could have saved him" is that throwing up walls, police, DEA, Military, etc... is not that something. That we know if we actually pay attention to the data coming back from the various agencies that have been conducting and studying the effects of the drug war. This war is the most pointless thing we have done as a nation. Instead of focusing on building a supportive social system that reduces the appeal of mind altering substances because people are engaged in meaningful lives, or similarly where we treat substance abuse as a medical and psychological process and work to build on people's strengths; we have treated as a war and have created a vast black market, social stigma, crime, and division.

Maybe what I have described above would still not have saved the man's son, but what we are doing now hasn't done much except make some people rich and create a lot more problems for the rest of us, and Trump wants to throw even more money at the same failed solutions.

has severe limitations. The number of times a person has to go through a rehab program to be successful is often way beyond what their resources will allow. So it is clear there is work to be done for this serious problem.

tRump promises simplistic and unrealistic answers to complex problems that people WANT to hear. They want things to get better quickly and relatively painlessly and inexpensively. So tRump is only so happy to tell them he can do that. He is lying, of course, but it worked so he continues to spin fairy tales to people desperate for quick, easy solutions.

I am conflicted how I feel about these people because they have made it possible for a tyrant like tRump to be installed. On the one hand, I feel their pain and desperation. But on the other I hate their sheer stupidity and lack of critical thinking to recognize the con when it was put upon them.
