I think Trump can't retain information and that is why he needs Ivanka around

I believe he can't remember details and information he has been given. I think this is why he has Ivanka around all the time. She is his memory. Speaking for myself ( I'm 60 years old) I do not have the ability to retain quickly as much information as I used to and he's over 70. These abilities vary among the older crowd. I really think he has lost a lot of his short term memory. This is a big liability for a world leader. Ivanka is there to hide that fact. I also think he has YUGE plans to have Ivanka in politics and is sneaking her in the back door.

I know that she seems to be his only calming or corralling influence in his life. Additionally, like you said, I think it's pretty clear that they have aspirations for her in politics.

Jared and Ivanka & Co have weighed costs of political repercussions over conflicts of interest and nepotism, against need for stabilization of erratic Trump, so solution is to allow Ivanka complete access to sit in on all meetings involving classified info to calm him and keep him focused. She is natural antidote to rabid extremists Bannon and Miller who have been inciting Trump's delusions. But Jared has allowed and enabled them. Seems that Jared and Ivanka now realize need to temper the radical influence of Bannon that feeds into Trump's paranoia.

The Trump family grifters know they need to forestall his implosion, in order to continue raking in millions as long as possible and get Trump enterprises out of debt.
