(34,172 posts)What they did, stall the confirmation process, was the right of Senate which is, sadly, controlled by Republicans.
A shitty thing to do, but it wasn't stolen. We gave Republicans the power to block Obama's nomination when we didn't control the Senate.

(7,769 posts)First of all, President Obama should have nominated Sen. Kamala Harris for that seat.
Second, after day one of obstruction, President Obama should have been critical of the GOP, non stop, and made it a campaign issue.
These mofos got away with the crime of the century. And then Trump happened.

And true, Obama's response was tepid. I assumed he thought Hillary would handle it when in office.
So much for that.
